Image Story

Lake Pinaroo is a stunning contrast to the arid landscapes of Sturt National Park. In 1996 Lake Pinaroo was listed as an internationally important wetland under the Ramsar Convention. It was listed because of the rarity of wetlands in arid NSW, and, due to its retention of water for long periods, the part it plays in providing refuge for waterbirds.
